One project, three companies to develop it. Danielle Ryan, entrepreneur, philanthropist, art lover and heir to the Ryanair fortune, decided to build and develop the Roads project in the world with Celso Fadelli, founder and Ceo of Intertrade Europe. It is an international group with subsidiaries from Russia to Australia to the United States, which has always promoted artistic perfumery and is the organizer of Unscent, an event focused on the concepts of art and essences.

There are three companies that will develop the project: One dedicated to the essences, a second to publishing and the last to movies. Three ways to tell Roads, metaphor for life, for the man that must decide which way to go and what choices to make. But how will this idea be developed? Bellezzefelici asked Celso Fadelli.

Q. How did you get to know the heir to the Ryanair fortune?
A.
I was approached over a year ago by some intemediaries. Only after the third meeting they informed me who was behind the project. I met Danielle after about two months and it was a revelation: A young, brilliant and versatile mind, a perfect blend of refined insights and skills which rarely go together.

Sarete i suoi distributori?

Q. What's the relationship between Danielle Ryan and Intertrade Europe? Will you be distributors for Roads? Have you found a joint venture?
A.
As a result of a market analysis lasted one year, Intertrade Europe Group has been identified as the strategic partner for the development of Roads in the global market, thanks to a partnership between companies of the two groups. The first aim is to connect perfumes to publishing and film production.

D. Quali sono le prossime tappe?
R. Roads è via, strada, percorso, sentiero.

Q. What are the next steps?
A.
The first step is to bring the brand with its ten fragrances and bodycare collection in the most important showcases of the world by 2014. The success at Unscent and confirmation of Barneys as exclusive partner in the U.S. would say that we are working well.

Q. What are the characteristics of the scents you will launch?
A.
Perfumes of quality, understandable, opening the way to mind and heart.

Profumo di... carbone. Le visioni di Andrea Maack

Andrea Maack è nata in Islanda
(Please scroll down to the bottom for the English version of the post)

All'attivo ha già mostre a Londra, Copenhagen, New York.

Sembrano, come dire, piuttosto italiani...

Coal
Scent of...charcoal. Andrea Maack and her art

Andrea Maack is an artist, born in Reykjavík, Iceland. She uses pencil and mixed media drawings to form a basis for her artwork that crosses between art, fashion and scent. Her last work is a perfume, Coal, that reminds the charcoal used by the artist during her drawings, she explained to Bellezzefelici.
Andrea Maack
Q. What's the relationship between art and perfumes?
A. For me it´s a very personal relationship, I started out with an experiment to make fragrance as artwork that I exhibited in gallery and that has now moved into the commercial sphere. The fragrances I make are all an extensions and a part of my practice as an artist, I do not make perfumes to please the market, only to please myself and I do think of each one as a work of art.

Q. Are your drawings associated with perfumes during the expositions?
A. Yes, I have made some installations/performances with the drawings, for example the Blotter project, where I took an original drawing that inspired a fragrance and cut it into perfume blotters, where the guests got to pick a piece and spray the fragrance directly onto the drawing. They are always a part of the exhibition in one way or another.

Q. What's the image you wish to achieve through coal in your essence?
A. With Coal I´m bringing the consumer back to my studio where I´m working on images with black charcoal.  It´s a very black fragrance, a black powder, the smudge on your fingers when you use the coal, the sound it makes when it hits the crisp white paper and the sketches are everywhere.

Q. Do you think Italy will influence your next works? How?
A. I think it has already; I was working on a scarf collection when I arrived in Italy in June. I stared with a blank page, a new beginning and these drawings are like nothing I have done before, to me they actually look quite Italian, but you will have to judge on your own when we release them at Pitti in September.
