Olivier Baussan, fondatore de L'Occitane

Nel 1976 Olivier Baussan ha 23 anni. Possiede un alambicco, un furgone e conosce le piante. Distilla l'olio essenziale di rosmarino che vende nei mercati della Provenza, finchè un giorno decide di acquistare un vecchio saponificio. Nasce così L'Occitane. Baussan sviluppa prodotti per la cura della pelle, abbina natura e ricerca, aromaterapia e fitoterapia.

In 1976 Olivier Baussan is 23 years old. It has a still, a van and knows the plants. He distills the essential oil of rosemary that he sells in the markets of Provence. One day he decides to buy an old soap factory. It's the beginning of L'Occitane. Baussan develops products for skin care, combines nature and research, aromatherapy and phytotherapy.

Quattro anni più tardi, Baussan sente parlare per la prima volta delle donne produttrici di karité nel Burkina Faso. Ordina loro una grande partita di burro di karité. E avvia un progetto di co-sviluppo per aiutarle ad emanciparsi economicamente. Un'attenzione alle persone e alla natura che si espanderà ai programmi per gli ipovedenti in Francia, alla lotta contro la cecità nei Paesi in via di sviluppo e al rilancio di colture abbandonate (elicriso e mandorlo). Progetti sempre più importanti seguiti, dal 2006, dalla Fondazione L'Occitane. Che vanta un budget quinquennale di oltre 3 milioni di euro.

Four years later Baussan hears for the first time of the women producing shea butter in Burkina Faso. Baussan orders them a big batch of shea butter. And starts a project of co-development to help them empower themselves economically. This attention to people and nature will expand into programs for the visually impaired in France, the fight against blindness in developing countries and the revitalization of abandoned crops - helichrysum and almond -. Dal 2009 i Laboratori L'Occitane (vi lavorano 80 ricercatori), applicano ai prodotti i principi di cosmetogenomica. E' l'analisi su come i geni reagiscono sotto l'azione stimolante dei cosmetici. L'Occitane ha studiato 25.000 geni per comprendere il funzionamento della pelle. Ogni anno realizza 200 nuove formule e dal 2001 ha depositato 13 brevetti. Al programma collabora il dipartimento di biologia molecolare dell’Istituto Paoli Calmette di Marsiglia.

MA COM'E' LA LINEA MAC PRO LONGWEAR?

Ho usato le matite in tinta per delineare il contorno delle labbra e poi le ho sfumate all'interno preparando la base. La nuance Unlimited è un rosa ciclamino chiaro che dà colore al viso e non stona affatto anche se non si è truccate (grande pregio). La consistenza è burrosa, il finish mat.

Gli ombretti in crema mantengono più a lungo la colorazione iniziale e sono più adatti ai contrasti e ai look grafici: per esempio una tonalità chiara sulla palpebra mobile e una scura usata come liner. La texture è morbida e compatta, aiuta molto a tirare con facilità le linee.

A lui e alla mondana figlia Bibi è dedicato il cofanetto regalo con i due vini di eccellenza della cantina: il Lison Classico docg e il Raboso Malanotte del Piave docg. “I due docg”, spiega Alberto Serena, vicepresidente di San Osvaldo, “rappresentano il fiore all'occhiello del territorio veneto orientale. Abbiamo voluto dedicarli ai fondatori, che si innamorarono di questo luogo dando un grande impulso alla viticoltura di tutta l'area”.

Bibi amava le grandi capitali europee

Per l'occasione è stata recuperata anche la bottiglia storica, di una particolare forma asimmetrica, utilizzata per i vini Sant’Osvaldo fino a vent'anni fa e che per lungo tempo è stata il segno distintivo dell'azienda nei ristoranti di tutto il mondo.

“Abbiamo ritrovato negli archivi dell'azienda”, racconta Serena, “un lungo epistolario che svela dettagli sul rapporto fra padre e figlia. All'integerrimo barone abbiamo intitolato il Lison Classico docg, con la sua robusta sapidità legata alla prossimità al mare. Alla spensierata Bibi, il Raboso Malanotte del Piave docg, che con l'appassimento delle uve riesce a smussare il tannino tipico della varietà, ottenendo un rosso di grande piacevolezza”.

Bronzo, kaki, taupe. Colori che richiamano l'autunno, la voglia di fare una passeggiata in un viale alberato o di trovare rifugio in un locale caldo. A intensificare lo sguardo, un gran bel mascara, Be long mascara Longeur & Courbe, leggermente piegato nella parte finale per poter passare su tutta la lunghezza delle ciglia. E' un accorgimento che di solito usano i make up artist. La brosse è fatta in elastomero, che la rende flessibile, in modo da catturare anche le ciglia più piccole e sottili. Ho provato il colore nero, molto intenso e fluido. Il mascara ha anche funzione curativa, essendo arricchito con matrikine e pantenolo, un complesso che nutre le ciglia.
